My Survival Thriller Is Out!

Catastrophe is coming. It's not if. It's when.

Catastrophe is coming. It’s not if. It’s when.

Yellowstone-A Fall From Grace has been released on Amazon, Kindle, and Create Space. Yellowstone erupts every 600,000 years. That time passed years ago. The United States government isn’t prepared for this disaster or any other–natural or terrorist. When catastrophe occurs, preppers and survival groups with a year’s supply of the necessities live longer than most. Common citizens die by the millions, but not before suffering in a kill-or-be-killed world.

When an ash layer from 100 foot to 10 foot deep spreads up to 1,000 miles from the volcano, leaving ten of our states completely uninhabitable, Mary Kenton, an American Indian, and her survivalist husband, B.K., flee with their friends to their encampment, equipped to wait out the carnage, and emerge to help restore what is left of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the Southern States of America. The danger they face comes from former neighbors, looters, rapists, and migrants fleeing starvation. America’s enemies launch terrorist attacks and form mobs bent on taking control of what’s left of the United States, the world’s largest nuclear power.

Impossible? Think again!  It’s not if. It’s when.

Prepare Now! Our Government Isn’t

It's not if. It's when.

It’s not if. It’s when.

In the past week, I’ve had three different people tell me about totally different conspiracy theories. My answer when they ask me if I believe them is: Do I believe our government is trustworthy? No! Are America’s enemies preparing to attack us? Yes! Will God bring judgment against us for blatantly disobeying His laws? Yes! It doesn’t matter what disaster strikes first. Disaster is coming, and we must prepare now.

As an author, I can influence opinions with my words. I’ve written about one-world government plots in The Peacock Trilogy, sex trafficking in Busted, and religious hypocrisy in The Fifth Step. World events today demand I write about a major catastrophe falling on America. It isn’t if. It’s when. Yellowstone-A Fall From Grace is that book.

Hollywood’s versions of disaster movies are basically silly. Here are the facts. Whatever disaster strikes, there will be a kill zone involving thousands, maybe millions of people. Panic will set in. Due to that panic our electrical grid will fail. Food supplies will vanish as people kill each other to grab what they can for themselves. The worst of humanity will show itself, and women will become sex-slaves to roaming bands of men. We will revert to the survival of the fittest, seeking water, food, shelter, and weapons. Frankly if you are not prepared now, wake up and stock up on those things that will save your life, water, food, reliable weapons, by seeking out prepper sites through Twitter, Google, and other social media outlets for guidelines to what to buy.

In Yellowstone, former military patriots set-up survival camps for whatever disaster befalls. The novel is their story. It’s told with all the grizzly details, showing what life will be like. Awake up. You own it to your family to prepare now. When the novel is ready for publication I will post to as many sites as possible to get the word out. Catastrophe: The U.S. Isn’t Prepared.

It's not if. It's when.

It’s not if. It’s when.

The last eruption of Yellowstone’s volcano covered the ground with ejecta hundreds of feet deep at the source and as deep as ten feet as far away as Columbia, Missouri. This would be a catastrophe, if the eruption happens again. Imagine living in Lymon, Colorado, when Yellowstone blows. Within hours, heavy ash begins to fall. You try to drive away in your car, but the moving parts clog up after ten minutes or so and the roads become impossible to drive on. Within a day, twenty feet of ash covers the entire State of Colorado and beyond.

The air grits up and darkness covers the northern states of America at noon. Even as far away as New York City, the sky is dim and the particles in the air are hazardous to your health. Its free crystalline silicone. The stuff that causes Black Lung. Except you’re receiving a far more lethal dose than a mine worker gets even after 20 years in the mines, and you don’t have a mask sufficient enough to protect yourself.

People in the non-ash zones panic. People in the heavy ash zones are dead or dying. Then the looting begins. Frantic relatives try to reach loved ones. Heighten activity brings down the electrical grid, leaving the east coast in darkness. Worldwide planes can’t fly. Telecommunications go out. The top of the ash plume is over 22 miles high afloat over the earth. This happens on the first day of what could be months of eruptions.

Today’s headlines talk about earthquakes in Iceland predicting future volcanic eruptions. The Iceland volcanoes are terrible, but predictable and localized compared to Yellowstone. Yellowstone’s volcano sits within the bowels of the earth, waiting to vomit out destruction.

In recent years, the ground around the Yellowstone area has risen several inches. In places the roads are melting. There have been sightings of Buffalo leaving the area, not that it well help them. Another eruption is years overdue. America is not prepared, as if preparation could stop the event from occurring. But it might save the population not in immediate danger.

Once the catastrophe occurs, in the rest of the world, the panic grows. America becomes a battlefield. Illegal immigrants flood through our southern unaffected borders. But that is a topic for the next article. Rioting!

Yellowstone-We’re not prepared!

Catastrophe is coming. It's not if. It's when.

Catastrophe is coming. It’s not if. It’s when.

The job of an author is to stimulate thought–to look into the future and raise RED FLAGS. Many world conditions could destroy our way of life, Evidence the recent hurricanes and fires in California. The Yellowstone volcano is one of those, and Americans are not prepared.

If the supervolcano underneath Yellowstone erupts again, we may have far less advance warning time than we thought.

After analyzing minerals in fossilized ash from the most recent mega-eruption, researchers at Arizona State University think the super-volcano last woke up after two influxes of fresh magma flowed into the reservoir below the caldera. And in an unsettling twist, the minerals revealed that the critical changes in temperature and composition built up in a matter of decades. Until now, geologists had thought it would take centuries for the super-volcano to make that transition.

A 2013 study, for instance, showed that the magma reservoir that feeds the super-volcano is about two and a half times larger than previous estimates. Scientists also think the reservoir is drained after every monster blast, so they thought it should take a long time to refill. Based on the new study, it seems the magma can rapidly refresh—making the volcano potentially explosive in the geologic blink of an eye.

Americans of today are ostriches, heads in the sand and no stomach to fight against tyranny. Now consider an America crippled by the Yellowstone Volcano, the failure of our infrastructure, and the breakdown of moral authority. Isis, and other enemies, will leap to deal the final blow. Imagine early in the morning, a terrorist, who crossed the border from Canada without being checked, slips into what is left of the Wall Street District and explodes a dirty bomb. Another walks down Pennsylvania Avenue and explodes another bomb. American leadership and financial prowess disappears in seconds and the world mourns over the fall of the greatest country on the face of the earth.

The sad part is the Yellowstone Volcano isn’t the culprit, our lack of preparedness is. A strong nation with strong principles can survive even a catastrophe like Yellowstone. A strong nation, like America was in World War II, would rise from the ashes and become even stronger. But that nation of the 1940’s believed in God. That nation united around a single purpose. To destroy evil empires and Fascists. I see no will to stand up for our beliefs today. I see no unified beliefs to defend. If our government had some, we would not be bickering ourselves into inaction, as we are today.

Sadly, an event such as the eruption of the Yellowstone Volcano will bring America down if we do not change as a people now. Divided we do fall. Fix the infrastructure, Today! Decide what America stands for. Be as passionate about preserving the American way of life, as Isis is about establishing theirs. Or Yellowstone or not, America will fall under the weight of division, greed, and moral decline. We don’t need a Yellowstone to destroy us.

Yellowstone-Social Meltdown

2015-16 Could This Be The Harbinger's Prediction?

2015-16 Could This Be The Harbinger’s Prediction?

The impact of the full force of Yellowstone’s Volcano causes a social meltdown. When the infrastructure collapses the social meltdown begins. Think Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, Self-actualization and rational behavior depend upon our basic needs being fulfilled. Without electric power, without the major sources of food supply being available, and with the danger of air and water pollution, Mankind reverts to finding water, food, shelter, and having sex.

People band together into street gangs. And the survival of the fittest occurs. Initially, looting for water, food, and shelter disrupts the social order. Then, people ambush food trucks along the highways. Roads become impassable, and the strongest stockpile what little food and water remains. The weather becomes icy cold. 70 % of the plant life in the Northern Hemisphere struggles to survive. Women become sexual captives and government can’t quell the rioting.

Europe fares better. Only because they haven’t lost a third of their landmass and population. Land travel isn’t interrupted there. But in the States, vigilante rule becomes the norm. Volcanic ejecta clogs the rivers, rerouting some and flooding massive areas. Local governments step up to provide protection, but they aren’t prepared and don’t prevail. An all out war between the haves and the have-nots causes death and destruction as the Yellowstone volcano which still spews poison into the air.

The social meltdown turns America’s eyes inward, as our position in the world falls to a third world status. Then our enemies abroad see their opportunity to exploit our weaknesses.

Today. Not next election. Not by bickering in Congress. Today, America must rebuild our infrastructure. Today, America must stockpile for crisis management. Today, we must act or tomorrow appears hopeless.

Next time: The terrorists strike and who will help.

For What It’s Worth.

We have faced the enemy, and they are us.

We have faced the enemy, and they are us.

For What It’s Worth

I’m 73 years-old and became a man in the sixties. Back then a song called For What It’s Worth by Buffalo Springfield became the cornerstone of my human philosophy. Now as a Christian, I see a greater message in that song, as I connect the words with the evil nature of Mankind’s heart. We were being warned about the future, but didn’t listen.

The chorus is an American statement of that decade. “It’s time we stop. Hey, what’s that sound? Everybody look what’s going down.”

I look around and see every verse of that song alive and unwell in America. But I shouldn’t be surprised. The clash of tribal, belief systems, and racial differences has destroyed every civilization since Egypt. So let’s dissect the verses.

Verse 1.

There’s something happening here. What it is ain’t exactly clear. There’s a man with a gun over there. Telling me I gotta beware. (Chorus)

Depending on one’s point of view, the man with the gun could be a cop, a robber, a protester trying to change my mind with force. He certainly isn’t my friend. He’s telling me—be afraid. Be very afraid. Without Christ as my strength and my shield fear would consume me.

Verse 2.

There’s battle lines being drawn. Nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong. Young people speaking their minds. Getting so much resistance from behind. (Chorus)

You can legislate change and protest for your rights. But you can’t change the human heart. Battle lines are being drawn all over America on so many issues I can’t name them all. With every political or legislative victory for one side, the other’s resolve to fight grows to the point where hatred embeds. The youth, like in the late sixties and early seventies, fight idealistically for equality and peace, when Mankind can’t define the words.

Humans never rid themselves of prejudices. Take away the dictator at the top, and the old rivalries from centuries ago come right back. Then people kill each other. Iraq, the Arab spring, and the conflicts in Serbia and Kosovo prove the point.

Verse 3.

What a field day for the heat. A thousand people in the street. Singing songs and carrying signs. Mostly say hooray for our side. (Chorus)

The police are people. They crack under the pressure of their jobs. The very people they try to protect shoot them out of hate. Every action they take is videotaped, cell phones record the events, and people judge them based on which side they’re on. Protestors throw rocks and rally others to their causes. Trouble shocks America daily.

Verse 4.

Paranoia runs deep. Into your life it will creep. It starts when you’re always afraid. Step out of line, the man come and take you away. (Chorus)

One day, those who aren’t politically correct will say something or do something viewed as unpopular by those in power, and be arrested for expressing their opinion by the very people crying for equality and justice. Then America will fall. God will only be patient so long, before He administers justice. Meantime, I will not fear for He is with me.

Just saying.

Marketing–For all it’s worth.

Amazon gives encouragement to its authors by allowing us to offer free books. Right now my ranking is #1 in Christian Futuristic free books. # 13 in free Sci-fi / Fantasy in the Kindle store. Of course, I don’t know how many book are being offered free in those categories right now.

This is the second time in three years I reached #1 on Amazon free by marketing free books. Hey, you take what you can get, right? I will never do an online giveaway on paperback. I have too great an investment. My hope is to receive honest reviews to boost the sales of not only this novel, but the two preceding it. Which brings me to this topic.  Marketing for all its worth. We all love to write. However, using technology that puts our work in front of the public make our stomachs sour. In today’s publishing atmosphere, you must spend more time on generating publicity than ever before.

I hate it. But I do it. if you want to sell books, you must do it as well.

Lexicon-Don’t Miss It!

Mitch Haynes - He's as handsome as he looks

Mitch Haynes – He’s as handsome as he looks

I limit my conferences to two a year, three if I’m invited as a speaker. The Lexicon Conference in Denton, Texas exceeds my expectations every year. Why? Because it encourages the sharing of information that helps other writers succeed. If I had known about Lexicon when I was starting out, I would have arrived at my goals quicker. Mitch Haynes puts on a hell of a conference. Every person attending feels like a winner, whether they’ve published or not.

Published authors, publishers, agents, and support service people mingle together sharing ideas and giving others the benefit of their experiences. The atmosphere smacks of energy and intimacy. Your learn as much walking the halls as you do in the sessions, and Mitch provides an atmosphere that’s open. No question considered stupid. No comment ignored.

Several mystery, thriller, suspense writers attend, so I talk shop on the level I’m at in my writing. Amazing people with solid knowledge roam the halls between sessions open to help me improve. A future Nora Roberts or Ken Follett attending the session can ask questions and learn. I don’t know a person going who isn’t eager to give freely of their expertise. And yes, not only at the bar after several drinks. But anytime.

My session at Lexicon will cover my journey to publishing, mistakes I made and the lessons I learned. It’s soup to nuts from the day I put a pencil to the paper–yes back that far–to today. I don’t care where you live. DFW is less than an hour away. My home conference is OWFI. I love to attend. Lexicon is my home away from home conference. I challenge you. Attend once. You’ll become a believer. July 17-19. Check out their website:  http://www.lexi-conwritersconference.com/
